skip: Planning services for command and control systemsThe key services provided by the Command/Control Planning Services Unit are detail engineering, project coordination and monitoring and technical testing.
The Bahnbau Group has personnel qualified to work on railway command/control systems who are familiar with the techniques and engineering methods used by the former West German Bundesbahn and the East German Reichsbahn.
The service portfolio comprises:
- Construction, rebuilding and modification of mechanical, electromechanical, relay and geographical interlocking systems
- Block systems and level-crossing protection systems
- Train control systems and operations command/control technology
- Rationalised solutions housed in prefabricated relay containers or specially equipped concrete switching boxes
- Reorganisation (decommissioning, regrouping) of interlockings
- Track infrastructure for electronic interlocking installations

Assignment: Conversion work to accommodate the Mannheim-Rheinau EI (Bombardier B 950)
Client: Bombardier Transportation, Braunschweig
Planning period: November 2004 until May 2005
Services rendered:
- Detail engineering – Project part II
- Conversion work at Schwetzingen station
- Technical equipment to facilitate running in the opposite direction of normal travel
- Conversion work at shunting station
- Conversion work at main station
Assignment: Horb Station, interlocking 4 (type: E43)
Client: DB Netz AG Anlagenmanagement Württemberg/Südbaden
Planning period: April to October 2005
Services rendered:
- Decommisioning of interlocking 4
- Shifting of all control functions from interlocking 4 to interlocking 2
- Relocation of signaller functions to interlocking 1 (signaller, passenger station)
- Conversion of area controlled by former interlocking 4 to DrS2 technology. The large control distances involved meant that 2 switches, 3 main signals, 3 distant signals and 1 distant signal repeater were affected
- Decommissioning of section blocks between interlocking 2 and 4
- Establishing dependencies to replace decommissioned section block
- Setting up of nine new axle-counting sections for sections not visible from interlocking 2
- Adaptation to Sb59
- Planning of power supply system for the new configuration
- Detail engineering for parts I and II of project
