Mobile reprocessing of concrete sleepers
skip: Mobile reprocessing of concrete sleepersThe DGT mobile concrete-sleeper reprocessing plant
DGT’s mobile reprocessing plants have been in use throughout since 2004. Reflecting decades of material recycling know-how at DGT, these innovative, patented plants were custom designed and built by DGT engineers to perform mobile reconditioning of concrete sleepers.
The mobile reprocessing plants are deployed in the immediate vicinity of track construction sites if the site has more than 5000 reprocessable concrete sleepers, or close to collection construction sites with over 1000 reprocessable concrete sleepers. The plants are positioned close to the track construction site on a reprocessing area determined by the client or at a logistically optimised rented location that serves a number of different track construction sites. No other utilities, such as water or electrical power, need to be supplied to the plants. The use of the mobile concrete sleeper reprocessing plants helps to minimise freight costs. The installation and deinstallation of the plant takes one day in each case. Our services are of course provided as an all-in-one package, which means that we manage all the necessary preparatory work including the selection and checking of a suitable site.
Reprocessing stock: Concrete sleepers of the types B55, B58 and B70
Shift productivity: 200-220 concrete sleepers. The plants can also be operated in two-shift mode.
The reprocessing procedure comprises five main steps:
1. Loosening of sleeper screws
2. Pressure ejection of old dowels/plugs
3. Positioning of ribbed baseplate and insertion of sleeper screws
4. Retightening of sleeper screws
5. Gauge measurement
